About Us

Pamela Webb Moore

Pam MoorePam Moore formed her own companies, Moore Innovation and MooreNames, in 1999 after spending 27 years with Synectics, a consulting company noted for business innovation.

She helped build the company from a small training and service group to an international corporation with a broad range of consulting services. She was a Partner of the company, served on the Board of Directors and led the New Product and Marketing Services Group.

Her avid interest in language and background in linguistics was the basis for developing the naming service for Synectics. The randomness and unpredictability of the naming process frustrated her and many of her clients. After several years of investigation and experimentation, she developed a process for naming that has continually helped her clients get great new brand names over the last twenty years.

The Institute for International Research chose Pam to Chair the first conference on brand naming and she gave a workshop on how to generate great brand names. She is also featured in the book, The 12 Secrets of Highly Creative Women: A Portable Mentor by Gail McMeekin, M.S.W. published in March 2000 by Conari Press.

She is married and resides in Cambridge. She enjoys gardening, cooking, and canoeing in her spare time.

Peg Kelley

Peg KelleyPeg Kelley joined MooreNames as a way to merge her love of words and language with her work life. Her facilitation skills are applied to the task of bringing a team together to name an organization, a product, or a service. The creation of taglines or slogans are a sub-specialty.

Peg spent almost 20 years at an international consulting firm where she worked with Pam Moore in building the firm’s naming business. She left to form her own business, specializing in facilitation of client sessions ranging from new product development to creative problem-solving. She also developed a practice in meeting management, teaching seminars in the subject and co-authoring a booklet, 39 Secrets for Effective and Enjoyable Meetings, which was featured in American Way, the in-flight magazine of American Airlines.

A native Bostonian, Peg earned her M.B.A. from Simmons College and her B.A. in English from the University of Massachusetts in Boston. She loves science-fiction and is in the process of writing a novel in that genre with a partner she met on the Internet. A former “chat room host” on America OnLine, she enjoys exploring the capabilities of cyberspace as a vehicle to bring people together to get work done.
